Birthday Money Well Spent

When I picked L up from daycare last night he asked me if we could go to the store to buy "something big." So I asked him what he wanted to buy. His response was still, "something big." So with that I said we could go Thursday. He wasn't happy, but survived the wait. He bought this super-cool "Ben Ten grown up watch". He is ready to defend the universe.

What fun it is to have a 3 year old. I was surprised to find the magnetic alphabet lined up in our fridge water dispenser. He's going to be genius!

Pina Coladas

"If you like Pina Coladas And getting caught in the rain..." The previous post made me think of this song. It reminds me of working in Vals office at U.S.U .and listening to this song over and over on Q92. But I still enjoy singing the song with you C!

Mexican Fiesta

Wednesday night we had a Mexican Fiesta. L sat the table with the most Mexican looking place mats he could find. I decorated the cups. We dined on fajitas and mock pina coladas. It was delecious..at least to me. The boys had to eat it to get desert.

A new bed...

J recieved a giraffe tent for his birthday. It has become his new bed. What a lucky boy. What I would've given for a tent bed....

J's Birthday Celebration!

We invited family over, had pizza, ate cake then took a tour of the fire station. Notice the cool tools above, J was amazed. We finally got to go inside the beloved fire station!

Fire Engine Birthday

J had his third birthday and requested a fire engine cake. He adored the cake!

C also made a cake for J on his 'real' birthdate. J loved this cake too. I love it that C can cook. What a catch!

M&Ms

I know bribery is not the best form of parenting. But for the last two nights, J has thrown fits at bed time. He's worked himself up so much that he gets sick. So, to alleviate this problem tonight I bribed him with M&Ms. It worked great. It's a positive association with bed time. Right?

We camped, once.

We went camping in Helen this week. The frogs were scary at night, so scary that Joshy asked that we please "turn them off." But we survived and came home with only a black fly bite. Pretty good I'd say, for a family that never leaves the 'burbs'.

The First of Many

Larsen had his school play today. He was the boaconstrictor. He picked out some "snakey" fabric and Dad sewed up a great snake suit for him. You read it right, Dad sewed it for him.
